Day 1: City Tour – Kinigi

Your 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari adventure begins with a Kigali city tour, taking you to explore Rwanda’s vibrant capital, one of the cleanest and safest cities in Africa. While there, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to get deep insights into Rwanda’s dark history, the 1994 Rwanda Genocide.

You will also explore the vibrant local markets in the city, discover the charm of Kigali’s neighborhood, and savor flavors of Rwandan cuisine during lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a picturesque drive to Volcanoes National Park, located approximately 116 kilometers from the city, a journey completed in about 2 to 3 hours.

Upon arrival, you will check in your pre-booked accommodations where you will relax, and have dinner as you are preparing for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience awaiting you tomorrow. Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Departure.

Day 2 is the to embark on the highlight of your safari, the day to trek the fascinating mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This day starts with a cup of tea, and breakfast after which you are transferred to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi to attend a pre-gorilla briefing. This is typically about the safety protocols to follow while in the gorilla habitats to ensure both the well-being of these endangered species in their homes and your safety for a seamless and enjoyable gorilla trekking experience.

After the briefing, you have a choice to choose the gorilla group you would wish to trek, choosing from the easy trek, or medium to hard gorilla treks depending on your personal preferences.
