Detailed Itinerary of the 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari
Day 1: City Tour – Kinigi
Your tour will begin early morning after your breakfast at your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali international airport (KGL) by our company guide an depart for a city tour. Places to visit in Kigali include Gisozi genocide site to learn about Rwanda’s past dark history, local markets. Have lunch and transfer to Kinigi – Volcanoes national park. Arrive late and check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Volcanoes Lodge ( Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge / La Palme (Mid-range), Muhabura Hotel (Basic).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Departure.
Begin your day with breakfast early and with your tour guide, drive from hotel to the Kinigi Volcanoes national park head offices. Once in Kinigi offices, if you wish, you can have a cup of coffee which is provided free to all visitors and a beautiful cultural presentation before your briefing. After briefing on the dos and don’ts of trekking for gorillas, you have a chance to choose a gorilla group to trek, choosing from Easy trek, Medium and hard. As you have to return to Kigali that same day for departure, its best to go for an easy trek, which won’t last so long and not so tiring.
Once you meet the gorillas, you get to spend just one hour with them, you can photograph them, watch how they interact with each other not affected by your company! It’s such a wonderful experience.
Note: Your camera should not have Flash light as it can threaten the gorillas.
Once you descend from the forest, have lunch and drive off for Kigali city for departure.
