Day 1: Kigali city tour – Kisoro Uganda

Your tour will begin early morning after your breakfast at your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport by our company guide and depart for a city tour. Places to visit in Kigali include the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, a site to learn about Rwanda’s past dark history, and local markets.

Have lunch and transfer to Kisoro crossing to Uganda via cyanika border into Kisori town with beautiful views of Lake Mutanda and the rolling hills of the Virunga. Dinner and Overnight in Kisoro travelers rest house/ Kisoro tourist hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Virunga for gorilla trekking

This day requires you to wake up early for your breakfast and be ready to drive to the Congo crossing via the Bunagana Congo – Uganda border. You will drive to the Virunga Park headquarters for a briefing on your mountain gorilla experience.

Virunga National Park is a very rich ecosystem with several other primate species you may come across like vibrant golden monkeys, blue monkeys, and black and white colobus monkeys.

Once you meet the gorillas, you get to spend just one hour with them, you can photograph them, and watch how they interact with each other not affected by your company! It’s such a wonderful wildlife experience.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibatsi Village for Mount Nyiragongo Hiking

Have your breakfast at your hotel and be ready to transfer to Kibatsi village reaching at Kibatsi village head trail of Nyiragongo Volcano. The hike starts by 9:30 am. Nyiragongo is an active volcano that shows signs of erupting. Hiking this mountain takes about 5 to 6 hours

Day 4: Descend Nyiragongo – Transfer to Lake Kivu

After descending Nyiragongo, you will drive back to Lake Kivu for relaxing and Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Boat Ride to Nyamirundi Island – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Breakfast at the lodge and enjoy a beautiful boat ride along to the Nyamirundi coffee island. Here you will learn how coffee is processed in Rwanda. In the afternoon transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge / La Palme (Mid-range), and Muhabura Hotel (Basic).

Day 6: Gorilla trekking adventure – Ibyiwacu Cultural Village

Today is the day to see the gorillas, wake up early for a quick breakfast, and with your guide, drive to the Kinigi Park head offices where the briefing takes place. You can enjoy a cup of coffee and a Kinyarwanda cultural performance before the briefing.

Before, your gorilla trek, you will have a briefing on the general overview of what takes place once you meet the gorillas, and how to conduct it.
You have a chance to which the type of hike you want- easy, moderate, and tough, so you decide according to your physical ability.

Once you meet the gorillas, you get to spend just one hour with them, you can photograph them, and watch how they interact with each other not affected by your company! It’s such a wonderful experience.
Note: Your camera should not have a Flashlight as it can threaten the gorillas.

Once you descend from the forest, have lunch at your hotel and relax, In the afternoon head out to visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village. Later retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking – Tour Twin Lake of Burera & Ruhondo

Enjoy breakfast in the morning and head off for briefing before your golden monkey tracking adventure. Golden monkeys are an endangered primate species and offer a fantastic adventure. After the trek, have lunch and in the evening go visit twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali for City Tour – Departure

Morning breakfast at your hotel and return to Kigali for a Kigali city tour, visiting the Gisozi genocide memorial site and other outstanding tourist attractions around the city and later you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight.
